Happy Birthday, Dart: 1 exciting year!

By Christian Grobmeier

I remember as it was yesterday! Dart has been released before 1 year. I remember a couple of long nights which followed with compiling the Dart VM and learning on Dart Isolates (which was the most exciting thing for me). I wrote my first blog on Dart only one day later, offering a precompiled Dart VM for OSX 10.6:

Since then so much has happened. Suddenly there was Pub and Reflections. The first Libs from the Community came in, one by one, like Buckshot. A lot of buzz, nearly every time.

Now we are heading towards Milestone 1. At the time of this writing, only 71 issues are open before its release. I guess, with the release of M1 “Dart in Action” will appear soon. Its one of the first books on Dart. I think it will be a good one, as I have followed the Author, Chris Buckett for a while and can only say, he is really dedicated to Dart. He was also the one who reminded me that Dart is one year old.

5 articles on Dart from me has been printed. I created http://www.dartosphere.org, which aggregates a lot of great Blogs on Dart. I gave 3 talks, another one is in the pipeline. And I wrote the first half of german book which has many offers from publishers. As of today I even know how to publish that stuff, after it got an update.

Anyway it was a great ride so far, with many great people. I wish everybody involved in Dart (including community of course) another great year with Dart, and many others to follow.

Happy Birthday, Dart!
