Back from Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki MarketIt was just a short business trip to Helsinki and aftter only roundabout 36 it was over again. I meet up with my client in their wonderful office directly on the Helsinki harbour. Meeting room had a great view to the sea – isn’t that what we all ever wanted? Weather was extraordinary fine, 25 degress and sunshine. All that finns threw away their clothings, lying half naked around on the meadows. Hard contrast to germany, were everything is grey and with its just 12 degree (not speaking of throwing clothes away is definitly not a sport germans play today – or ever).

This time is stayed in the Scandic Marski. Compared to Seurohuonen, where I stayed last time, this one is more modern. I felt it more comfortable, with better rooms at all. Seurahuonen just has this cute, old style. Matter of taste.

The image shows some market, where I had dinner last time. But this time it was already closed when I arrived and I had to visit some supermarket. No big deal.

Again, Finnland is great. As a note to myself: I really must come there one day for holiday, traveling through wilderness and enjoy some cultural days in this wonderful city.

  1. Great that you liked the place! I’m in Helsinki quite often (my fiancĂ©e and our cats live there :-) , and I’d be happy to show you around if you like the next time you’re around.

    PS. Are you on Dopplr?

  2. Would be great to have one to walk around! I just made up such a Dopplr account – didn’t know about this service before, will try it. My account is here. I saw you are currently in Swiss – if you come near germany (munich or augsburg) let me know, I am currently there.

  3. Great! Munich is on my list of places to visit, I’ll drop you a note once I actually find time to make the trip.
